Remember when you were that girl who felt lost and didn't know what she wanted?

The girl who'd experienced difficult times in her personal life, the one who was working at a job she'd outgrown, but felt stuck and unable to break free? The girl who was overdosing on caffeine and unhealthy foods just to numb the feelings and get through the day? And when she woke up, it felt like every day was a repeat of the one before and she couldn't shake that feeling of being broken?

If this story sounds familiar, then we have something in common... because that was me.

It took patience and hard work, but I was able to overcome this dark time and create a life where I felt genuine contentment, gratitude and fulfillment. A life that was free from obligation, rules and toxic relationships and instead focused on love, helping others and freedom.

And it took two things: an honest, hard look at myself and an unquenchable desire for more.

I had to ask myself - Do I continue living a life that wears me down and stresses me out or do I have the courage to transform?

I wanted to look, feel and be my best. I wanted to retake control of my life, which meant creating an environment for my family where healthy living was a priority, happiness was our everyday reality and time and financial freedom were abundant.

And these days? My life is just that! I design my days the way I want with family being my top priority. I have the flexibility to work with whom I want, when I want, as much as I want and where I want. I quite literally jump out of bed every morning to get started on my day!

If we haven't met before, I'm Brooke - a motivator extraordinaire, a problem-solving master with a penchant for simplicity, positivity and teamwork. My mission is to help women and men create a life that fulfills and propels them to their own inner greatness so that they become the BEST version of themselves! One where they don't want to go to bed for fear of missing out and can't wait to get up every morning to get right back at it!

Why do I feel this way? Because I was that girl once and looking back, I now see that I was the only one holding myself back from being my authentic self.

You see, the truth is health is our richest asset, wealth allows us to do and give more and living a life of authenticity is the key to fulfillment.

 

And those big, bold, beautiful dreams you have? You know, the ones you keep quiet because you don't believe you're worthy or that they're possible?  Well, I'm here to tell you that they are and it all starts with you believing in yourself...

Because you CAN do, have and be it all.

But you have to ask yourself one thing... Are you ready?

Here's my story...

My hope is that hearing where I started from will inspire you and give you the confidence to create the life of your dreams. Why? Because this isn't a dress rehearsal my beautiful friend, this is the real deal and I believe we have the ability to create the life we desire. 

I'm a forever-learning student, a personal development junkie, a healthy lifestyle lover and a hair and fashion appreciator who is living life on her own terms. I wake up every morning with the intention of living a meaningful life and I have to pinch myself because this is my reality!

I believe that there's no time to "play small" and just make a living...

"I believe that we all have the ability to create the life we desire."

I have to be honest with you though, I didn't always feel that way. For over a decade I was an elementary school teacher and a self-described workaholic. My life looked a lot like this:

Get up early, rush to get myself ready for the day, wake up my children, drop one off with family (our "daycare"), bring the other to school with me. Skip breakfast, teach all morning and hurry around at every break I had to "get it all done". Sit and chew a meal mindfully? Pff! Who had time for that? More like stand and scarf. After school, my routine was the same as the morning, just in reverse. Get home, prepare dinner, play with the kids a bit before hurrying them to bed so that I could get back to my desk and prepare my lesson plans for the next day before collapsing into bed completely exhausted. 

 

I was sick of rushing and feeling burnt out. My physical and mental health were quickly deteriorating and all my relationships (including the one with my husband) had taken a back seat. And what made it even more difficult? I was grieving the loss of my grandfather, was worried beyond words about my brother who was battling depression and was a wreck as I tried to care for my daughter who was struggling with eczema: I felt like a robot who was just going through the motions, feeling numb inside.

 

My adrenal glands were completely maxed out, I was experiencing hormonal imbalance, my body was deficient in vitamins and minerals, I was dealing with leaky gut, frequent headaches and barely coping on 4 hours of sleep a night. My body was silently screaming on the inside and telling me something had to change.

I looked like I'd aged years in just a few months, my body was weak and out of shape and people were beginning to notice that I wasn't acting like my usual cheerful myself. I was falling apart.

And that was the last straw... my doctor put me on a medical leave from work.

This was definitely my darkest time, but looking back I now see that it was the push I needed: it forced me to make my health a priority, it forced me to put work aside and to just focus on healing (my family and myself), and it forced me to get real and make a change.

 

It was also during this time that I first learned about personal development and started reading books by Jim Rohn, Dr. Wayne Dyer and Esther Hicks. Bringing mentors "into my home" like this taught me a lot about the importance of taking care of my mind, body and spirit.

It was my wake up call...

I knew that I had to retake control of my health if I wanted to change.

While I was on the medical leave, I realised a few things:

  • I realised that I needed to love myself enough to make me a priority

  • I realised that my own happiness and fulfillment had to come from within and not external sources

  • I realised if I wanted things to get better, I was the only one who could make that happen

  • I realised that I needed to retrain my thinking and invest time working on my mindset

  • I realised that I had to start treating my life holistically (mind, body and spirit)

  • I realised that I had to quiet the negative emotions like fear, doubt and jealousy, if I wanted to master my own life

Throughout this journey, I wondered...

I was caught up in the "busy-ness" of life, the toxic relationships, the external stresses and suffocating guilt and was keeping myself numb with copious amounts of coffee, unhealthy food and avoidance.

I was riding an emotional roller coaster that was quickly going off the tracks and it was manifesting in my physical and mental health. And it made me think... if I was feeling so overwhelmed, unfulfilled and out of balance, how many other people were feeling the same way?

I was determined to restore my health and

well-being.

So I dove in and read everything I could get my hands on about health. I studied nutrition, fitness and wellness. I listened to audiobooks that focused on developing a growth mindset, the power of positivity and productivity. I became obsessed with taking a holistic health approach to life and shared everything I was learning. I never could have imagined it would lead me to where I am now and I'm so grateful it did.

My intention is to educate and empower you to do the same: to improve your health, increase your wealth and to start living a life FULL of authenticity. To wake up every morning, look yourself in the mirror and feel complete love for the person you are. 

So Beautiful, do you truly love yourself? I know I didn't, but I learned how to by nourishing my body, mind and spirit with the things I needed to heal and be my best. I became happy and healthy once again, created financial wealth for my family and am living my life in complete alignment with who I'm meant to be

... and I want to help YOU do the same.
